Job summary

FirstCash, Inc. is seeking entry-level, full-time Retail Sales Associates in our pawn store locations nationwide, including Houston. You will greet customers, process sales and loans, and work with a variety of merchandise while upholding procedures and compliance.

Full‑Time Retail Sales Associate

$10.00 to $14.00 per hour

Earn up to 8% commission on transactions, adding an average of $2.60 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry‑level, full‑time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. The associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions and handles a wide variety of merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Responsibilities

• Greets and interacts with all customers to develop rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non‑management open/close procedures.
• Maintains the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays merchandise.
• Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicates to customers the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions.
• Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, displaying respect and using effective communication tools.
• Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
• Successfully completes assigned training.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building or retrieve products stored in exterior areas.
• Minimum age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team‑oriented.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
• Ability to work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Must have ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. Pawnbrokers can earn 2‑8% commission based on the gross profit of personal performance. More details regarding the commission incentive plan are provided during the interview process.
