Job summary

Knife River in Magna, UT is seeking a Paving Superintendent to oversee daily paving operations, lead crews, and coordinate subcontractors to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

The role requires strong field leadership, effective communication, and the ability to manage schedules, equipment, and budgets across DOT-standard projects. This position demands flexibility, including nights and weekends when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of asphalt paving experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or superintendent role
• Strong understanding of DOT, city, and county paving specifications
• Knowledge of paving equipment, materials, and best practices
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project plans
• Strong communication skills with team members, clients, and inspectors
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when needed
• Experience with GPS equipment and paving automation systems (preferred)
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus (preferred)
• OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (preferred)

Job description
