The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a Paving Laborer to perform a variety of manual tasks in paving operations at our Orlando, FL site. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and quality while supporting team members across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety policies and promote safety as a core value.
• Be on site at scheduled start times and attend daily huddle and toolbox talks.
• Identify hazards and help maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
• Maintain a flexible schedule including day/night shifts and extended hours.
• Climb ladders with three-point contact and handle strenuous outdoor work.
• Shovel and lute asphalt and push a wheelbarrow as required.
• Assist with layout of project and marking roadway structures.
• Foster positive relationships with team members and supervisors.
• Operate a tack wagon and assist with MOT setup and flagging operations.
• Assist in loading/unloading tools and equipment and backing dump trucks safely.
• Ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained and project inspections are completed.

Position Summary:

A Paving Laborer position includes various manual tasks associated with paving operations.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety, first in everything we do.
• Must be on site at scheduled start time for the Daily Huddle and Tool Box Talk
• Must be able to identify potential hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all Team Members
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to include day/night shift work with extended hours
• Able to climb ladders maintaining a 3-point contact
• Can perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions
• Able to effectively shovel and lute asphalt and push a wheelbarrow
• Assist with layout of project and marking of roadway structures
• Establish and maintain positive relationship with all Team Members and supervisors
• Able to operate a tack wagon
• Assist with MOT set up and flagging operations
• Assist in the loading and unloading of tools and equipment
• Assist in the backing of dump trucks in a safe manner
• Be sure assigned equipment is properly maintained and kept clean at all times
• Assist in daily project inspection prior to departing, to ensure work is complete with the highest quality and all cleanup is complete
