Middlesex Corporation, a nationally recognized heavy civil contractor, is seeking a Paving Laborer to support paving operations in Orlando, FL. This full-time role emphasizes safety, manual labor, and reliable on-site performance.

You will assist with layout, shoveling asphalt, flagging, equipment checks and daily project inspections, while adapting to day/night shifts and varying weather to ensure high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety policies and report accidents to ensure safety as a core value.
• Must be on site at scheduled start time for Daily Huddle and Tool Box Talk.
• Identify hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule with day/night shifts and extended hours.
• Operate and push wheelbarrow and shovel asphalt as needed.
• Assist with layout of project and marking roadway structures.
• Establish positive relationships with team members and supervisors.
• Assist with MOT setup and flagging operations.
• Assist in loading/unloading tools and equipment.
• Assist in backing of dump trucks safely and ensure equipment is maintained.

Position Summary:

A Paving Laborer position includes various manual tasks associated with paving operations.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value - Safety, first in everything we do.
• Must be on site at scheduled start time for the Daily Huddle and Tool Box Talk
• Must be able to identify potential hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all Team Members
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to include day/night shift work with extended hours
• Able to climb ladders maintaining a 3-point contact
• Can perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions
• Able to effectively shovel and lute asphalt and push a wheelbarrow
• Assist with layout of project and marking of roadway structures
• Establish and maintain positive relationship with all Team Members and supervisors
• Able to operate a tack wagon
• Assist with MOT set up and flagging operations
• Assist in the loading and unloading of tools and equipment
• Assist in the backing of dump trucks in a safe manner
• Be sure assigned equipment is properly maintained and kept clean at all times
• Assist in daily project inspection prior to departing, to ensure work is complete with the highest quality and all cleanup is complete
