Job summary

Appling-Healthcare-System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support direct daily care of patients under supervision. You will assist with ADLs, monitor residents, and report changes to your supervisor. This overnight shift runs 7p-7a.

Qualifications include Georgia CNA certification or attainment within 4 months of graduation, and BLS certification within 90 days of hire. English communication skills are required; additional languages are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Current CNA Certification in Georgia or obtained within 4 months of graduation.
  • Current BLS Certification. (Must obtain within 90 days of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Takes and records resident vital signs accurately.
  • Accurately measures and records temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure (TPR and BP).
  • Measures and records weights and heights.
  • Explains procedures to residents before beginning.
  • Assists with lifting, positioning, and transporting residents in and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, bathtubs, etc.
  • Assists residents with care including bathing, grooming, hygiene, and placement of adaptive equipment.
  • Performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed. Assists with application of adaptive devices.
  • Assists residents with bowel and bladder functions.
  • Identifies and reports abnormal skin conditions.
  • Assists residents in ambulation with or without self-help devices.
  • Empties urinary drainage bags and records amount in medical records. Reports any irregularities to the nurse.
  • Ensures call lights are within reach of residents and answers them promptly.
  • Assists residents in preparation for and transporting to appointments, activities, and social programs.
  • Provides range of motion exercises.
  • Provides post-mortem care.
  • Reports all changes in resident condition to the supervisor immediately.
  • Demonstrates patience and tact while interacting with residents, their families, and personnel.
  • Changes resident position every 2 hours within shift.
  • Ensures that residents who are unable to call for help are checked on frequently.
  • Distributes trays and feeds residents. Ensures residents are properly positioned for meals.
  • Delivers and documents all A.M., P.M., and bedtime snacks and supplements.
  • Demonstrates awareness of hazards and ensures areas are safe for residents.
  • Maintains cleanliness of resident units, central bathing area, treatment and supply rooms, workrooms, linen closets, bedpans, urinals and commodes, basins, bathtubs, floors, etc. in keeping up with resident safety needs.
  • Handles linens according to Infection Control guidelines and makes beds.
  • Changes bed linens and keeps linens tight to avoid wrinkles from forming under residents.
  • Keeps residents dry by changing gowns, clothing, linens, etc.
  • Straightens dresser tops, stands, and rooms.
  • Keeps correct intake/output.
  • Completes appropriate charge and inventory slips and monitors supply inventory daily to see what is needed.
  • Cleans instruments and equipment, and returns them to the proper place.
  • Establishes priorities and organizes work within shifts.
  • Assists in orienting new personnel.
  • Takes call rotations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested.

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistants are tasked with assisting in the direct daily care of patients. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Qualification Requirements:
