Job summary

Flexible Pavements of Ohio (FPO) is seeking a Pavements & Materials Engineer/Technician for Southern & Southwest Ohio. Regional and out of state travel is required.

The applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Office and web-based communication tools and possess a working knowledge of pavement design and construction, including mixture types and thickness design. The role requires strong written, verbal and electronic communication skills and a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Ohio Department of Transportation Construction & Materials Specifications.
  • Registration in the State of Ohio as a Professional Engineer preferred.
  • Salary based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates technical information and assistance to FPO members, public and private pavement owners through written documentation, oral presentations, and in person events.
  • Performs field assessments including onsite project review, pre-construction asphalt design and mixture recommendations and post construction evaluation.
  • Represents the interests of the industry before state, federal, and local government agencies and affiliated industry committees and associations.
  • Develops training, provides instruction and technical presentations.
  • Assists in developing written technical publications and articles.
