Position Details

Title: Pavement Marking Technician II

Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Pavement Marking Technician operates pavement marking equipment for road construction and maintenance projects, ensuring precise application, safety compliance, and equipment maintenance. The role requires working in various weather conditions, following detailed instructions, and collaborating with team members and contractors to ensure project success.

Essential Functions
  • Operate equipment to apply paint, thermoplastic, and other pavement markings.
  • Prepare work areas, transport materials, and operate trucks for logistics.
  • Implement striping plans, perform layout, including intersection markings.
  • Handle supplies, signs, posts, and supports.
  • Use hand grinders and install/remove delineators, signs, and reflective tape.
  • Install heat tape and thermoplastic materials per specifications.
  • Maintain and operate all equipment, including milling and grinding tools.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Communicate with contractors, inspectors, and supervise personnel.
  • Complete daily paperwork and logs.
  • Follow safety protocols and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License required; CDL preferred; must obtain CDL Class B within 60 days.
  • Ability to pass background, drug tests, and meet DOT requirements.
  • Proper safety gear required.
  • Complete ATSSA Pavement Marking training if mandated.
  • Knowledge of local roadways and operating delivery vehicles.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for cargo transport.
