Job summary

WorkGenius Group in Nutley, NJ is seeking an experienced Patternmaker to translate design concepts into production-ready garments and develop blocks across product categories with consistent fit.

You will lead fit sessions, communicate construction details to vendors, mentor sample-room staff, and collaborate with Design, Technical Design, Sourcing, and regional offices to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of full-time patternmaking experience including grading, marking, and sample-room work.
• Advanced expertise in first and production patternmaking, grading, construction, and fit across multiple product categories.
• Ability to interpret design concepts and troubleshoot construction, quality, and costing issues.
• Strong communication and organization, with experience directing non-English-speaking partners.
• Proficiency with computer patternmaking and 3D tools (ADS, Gerber, Lectra, Tukatech, CLO, Optitex, Browzwear).

• Develop blocks across product categories and size ranges while maintaining consistent fit and sizing across the client’s product lines.
• Lead fit sessions, communicate fit intent and construction details to vendors, and provide technical solutions to resolve fit and production issues.
• Mentor sample-room associates and collaborate with Design, Technical Design, Sourcing, regional offices, and vendors to align on deliverables and quality standards.
• Manage workflow, support seasonal fashion-show development, and travel to client offices or factories as needed to train technical teams and troubleshoot pattern-related issues.
