Pattern Warehouse Specialist / Inventory Control

The Pattern Warehouse Specialist/Inventory Control is responsible for leadership and daily operations of the Pattern Warehouse on 1st Shift, focusing on inventory accuracy, material flow, and shipping/receiving coordination. This position ensures patterns are received, stored, staged, and delivered to production safely, efficiently, and on time.

Essential Functions
  • Lead and supervise all 1st shift warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, storage, staging, material movement, and shipping.
  • Ensure accurate, organized inventory through cycle counts, audits, and proper documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient warehouse layout with clearly labeled and accessible materials.
  • Coordinate material availability with Production, Purchasing, Pattern Shop, and Quality.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving functions, verifying shipments, Bills of Lading, and documentation.
  • Enforce safe operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other material‑handling equipment.
  • Train and develop warehouse staff in safety, efficiency, and proper handling procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce errors, waste, and downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.
Secondary Pattern Shop Responsibilities
  • Ensure patterns and prototypes meet quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Coordinate tooling readiness, repairs, and preventive maintenance needs.
  • Oversee shop tools, equipment, supply inventory, and shop organization.
  • Maintain communication between the pattern shop, warehouse, and production.
  • Support scheduling, workload planning, and daily prioritization.
  • Evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and address personnel issues.
Qualifications & Competencies
Required
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of warehouse or inventory management experience
  • Experience leading or supervising warehouse/production teams
  • Strong understanding of material flow, inventory control, and warehouse best practices
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • Driver’s license
  • Blueprint reading
  • Fork lift
  • Using hand tools
Preferred
  • Technical/trade education
  • Background in carpentry, pattern making, tooling, or related fields
  • Experience with ERP or warehouse management software
Salary

$30–$35/hour, based on experience.
