Vincennes University Police Department seeks a full-time Security/Police Officer to protect university property and people, enforcing university rules, city ordinances, state statutes, and federal codes. The role requires night/weekend shifts within a three-shift structure and completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Academy within 12 months of hire.

To provide security and law enforcement protection over persons and university buildings and/or property in and around the university community, by enforcing the rules and regulations of Vincennes University, ordinances of the city of Vincennes, state statutes of the state of Indiana, and the U.S. Codes of the United States of America.
Daily supervision and assignments are received from command staff personnel.
Functional supervision is occasionally exercised over student safety officers and less experienced officers.
Applicants will be required to pass a physical agility assessment and written exam before being considered a candidate for this position.
All selected candidates will have to successfully pass a thorough background check, polygraph, medical evaluation, and psychological evaluation.
