Job summary

The Clermont Police Department seeks a dedicated patrol officer to perform general law enforcement duties, maintain public safety, enforce municipal ordinances and state laws, and respond to calls for service. Incumbents work under general supervision in assigned uniformed shifts.

Qualifications

• Enforces city and state codes, ordinances, laws and regulations to protect life and property.
• Maintains visibility through patrols of assigned areas and observes for suspicious activity.
• Collects evidence, interviews witnesses, and prepares investigative reports for prosecutions.

Responsibilities

• Patrols city streets, parks, neighborhoods, and businesses in a marked vehicle.
• Responds to emergency calls, assesses situations and provides appropriate actions.
• Gathers statements, secures crime scenes, and participates in investigations and court testimony.
