Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college credits by hire date or 40 credits plus admission to Wisconsin law enforcement academy with 20 credits earned upon graduation.
• Must meet Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification requirements.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and ordinances.
• Knowledge of arrest, search and seizure, interrogations, and handling of evidence.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work in a team and handle stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas and enforce laws and ordinances.
• Respond to criminal, suspicious, traffic and unusual situations as directed.
• Investigate activities, gather evidence, secure areas, and apprehend violators.
• Complete reports and paperwork related to police duties.
• Provide first responder services and basic EMS as required.
• Testify credibly in trials or hearings and communicate with victims and witnesses.
