Job summary

Lexington OK Police Department is seeking a Police Officer for a full-time position based in Lexington, OK. Salary is based on experience and candidates must meet state and local certification requirements.

Responsibilities include patrolling, responding to incidents, conducting investigations, serving warrants, and providing testimony when needed. The department offers take-home patrol vehicles for eligible officers and employee health benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license upon hire.
• CLEETPeace Officer certification required.
• CPR certification must be obtained and maintained by the department.
• Must successfully complete extensive background investigation.
• Must complete MMPI assessment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas by vehicle and/or on foot.
• Monitor and report suspicious or hazardous activities.
• Enforce state laws and make arrests when appropriate.
• Serve warrants and transport prisoners to detention facilities, including booking.
• Conduct crime scene investigations and preserve evidence.
• Interview victims, witnesses and suspects and obtain statements.
• Investigate traffic collisions and prepare reports.
• Provide security for events and routine building security.
• Respond to alarms, disturbances, and calls for service.
• Provide testimony in court when required.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid.
• Conduct preliminary and/or special investigations as assigned.
• Offer information and resources to community members.
