Job summary

Qualifications

• Some college coursework with minimum GPA 2.0.
• Preferred Texas peace officer certification.
• Willing to attend TCOLE police academy as an employee.
• Passing scores on entrance tests.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Must be US citizen and at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned area by bicycle, car or on foot to deter crime.
• Make arrests, inspect buildings, respond to emergencies and incidents.
• Enforce traffic laws, direct traffic, issue citations, and collect statements.
• Conduct preliminary investigations, testify in court, and write reports.
• May be assigned specialized duties as needed.
