Job summary

The City of Florence seeks a Police Officer to enforce municipal, state, and federal laws, protecting life, safety, welfare, and property within the city. Under supervision of the Patrol Sergeant, Police Commander, and Chief of Police, you will perform a variety of duties in service of the community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED for entry level position.
• Colorado Peace Officer certification at full status at the time of appointment.
• Must maintain Colorado Peace Officer Certification while employed by the City of Florence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service and preserve evidence.
• Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects; obtain legal admonishments.
• Arrest, detain, and search as required to accomplish tasks.
• Provide information to the public; maintain professionalism and public relations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
