Draper City Police Department seeks a Police Officer to patrol the city, respond to emergencies, enforce state and local laws, and safeguard the community. The role involves making arrests, conducting preliminary investigations, and preparing reports for court proceedings.

Requirements include high school diploma or GED, Utah POST certification (or within 12 months), fitness testing, EVO and FTO training, and a valid Utah driver license.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience: Entry level or lateral.
  • Utah P.O.S.T certification or certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Pass annual P.D. physical fitness test.
  • Must complete EVO certification during FTO training.
  • Must complete FTO training during probationary period.
  • Valid Utah driver license.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol Draper City by vehicle or on foot to deter and detect crime and enforce laws.
  • Respond to calls, secure crime scenes, interview witnesses and suspects, file reports.
  • Control traffic, issue citations, handle accidents and investigations.
  • Serve processes and escort prisoners as needed.
  • Prepare daily activity reports and testify in court when required.
  • Maintain firearms and vehicles and other equipment.
  • Engage in public relations to improve the department's image.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
