Job summary

Oconee County in the United States is seeking a police officer to enforce laws, perform patrols, respond to calls, and make arrests as required.

Duties include serving warrants, inspecting buildings, interviewing neighbors, transporting inmates, and collecting warrants from the Judge’s office.

Educational incentives are offered: Associate's $1,000, Bachelor’s $2,000, Master’s $3,000; entry salary is $53,920.

Qualifications

• High school/GED completion required.
• 2 years related experience required.
• Education may not substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Arrest suspects as warranted.
• Use the internet to locate addresses for suspects.
• Search houses and structures for subjects’ hide-outs.
• Transport inmates to the county jail and to court hearings.
• Collect warrants from the Judge’s office.
• Interview neighbors for suspect locations or addresses.
