Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math to calculate speeding violations and elapsed time.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal criminal laws; police methods and practices.
• Ability to read and understand reports, memos, manuals and statutes.
• Ability to write accurate, thorough reports and maintain records.
• Ability to develop good working relationships with citizens and other officers.
• Willingness to be available for call back after hours and provide contact numbers.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive patrol, law enforcement, traffic enforcement and related duties.
• Be assigned primarily to Patrol; may be assigned to Detective as needed.
