Job summary

Rockhurst University is seeking an armed Patrol Officer for the evening and overnight shifts to help maintain a safe campus environment. You will conduct patrols, engage with the campus community, respond to emergencies, and document incidents with thorough reporting.

As a commission-based officer with a Class A Private Officer License, you will protect roughly 3,000 students, faculty, and visitors, ensuring safety and a welcoming atmosphere. Training and benefits accompany this full-time role.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include being 21+ with a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Must qualify for (or hold) Armed Private Officer License within 45 days of hire.
• CPR/AED and Basic First Aid certification or ability to obtain on hire.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus and surrounding areas by foot, bicycle, golf cart, and vehicle.
• Engage with students, staff and visitors using community-oriented policing techniques.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and safety requests; manage alarms and non-emergency calls.
• Provide safety escorts and secure university facilities as needed.
• Conduct investigations and prepare accurate incident reports.
