Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required by the Texas Law Enforcement Commission.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Peace Officer or in a related field; 4 years if Juvenile Accountability.
• Texas Peace Officer Certification mandatory; valid driver’s license; must obtain TX license within 90 days.
• Must not have a Family Violence conviction; no disqualifying offense in the last 10 years; not discharged from the military with bad conduct.

Responsibilities

• Patrol county roadways and assist citizens in emergencies and non-emergencies.
• Respond to calls for service, perform traffic enforcement, issue tickets, direct traffic.
• Complete offense and incident reports; testify in court when required.
• Execute warrants and non-warrant arrests; respond to animal control and civil process needs.
• Investigate scenes, collect evidence, and assist with SWAT-related activities as needed.
