The role requires Louisiana POST certification, academy training if needed, and the ability to work shifts, respond to dispatches, write clear reports, and assist detectives as required.

Qualifications

• Certification by the State of Louisiana POST as Law Enforcement Officer.
• Willingness to attend 16–18 weeks at an Academy for certification.
• Must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalency, no felony, drug, or domestic violence convictions, valid Louisiana driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned area to promote public safety and observe suspicious activity.
• Respond to dispatch calls promptly and in accordance with agency policies.
• Enforce traffic laws, issue summonses, and investigate accidents.
• Conduct checks of dwellings and property to prevent damage or loss.
• Collect information, prepare reports and affidavits, and maintain records.
