Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Eligible to possess and lawfully use a firearm and qualify with department weapons.
• P.O.S.T licensed or eligible at hire; include license/eligibility letter with application.

Responsibilities

• Patrol roads, waterways, parks, trails and cities; enforce laws and protect life and property.
• Respond to calls for service; determine if laws were broken and take enforcement action.
• Prepare detailed written and electronic reports; coordinate with other agencies.
• Engage with community and participate in public safety programs.
• Provide testimony in court and support investigations across units (Investigations, Court Security, SRO, K9).
• Support various units (SWAT, Water Rescue, Mobile Field Force) as proficiency grows.
