Job summary

City of Orange Beach, AL seeks a Police Officer to patrol City areas on foot or by car, respond to complaints, conduct investigations and arrests. You will assist other agencies and maintain accurate reports while enforcing laws and ensuring public safety.

Responsibilities include serving warrants, testifying in court, directing traffic and supporting EMS. A valid license and ability to work overtime are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification by APOS T.C. for law enforcement or ability to be certified within 6 months.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; willingness to work overtime/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated City sections on foot or by car; respond to complaints.
• Enforce city, state and federal laws; conduct preliminary investigations and make arrests.
• Assist other agencies on calls; maintain incident and log reports; transport prisoners as needed.
• Direct traffic at intersections and events; provide escorts and assist motorists.
• Serve warrants and subpoenas; testify in court; report to District Attorney as needed.
• Maintain equipment and respond to emergencies; ensure radio and weapons are ready for use.
