Job summary

CHRISTUS Health seeks a dedicated Patient Transporter to move patients to inpatient beds and around the facility, ensuring safety and timeliness. You will assist with retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies, and medications as required while maintaining clean, functional transport equipment.

You will contribute to smooth department operations by prioritizing tasks, communicating clearly, and upholding infection control and safety standards throughout the day.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in hospital transport or patient flow is a plus.

Job description

Summary:

Transports patients to their inpatient bed and/or to and from other areas such as admitting, surgery, therapy or radiology in a safe and timely manner. Retrieves medical records, lab results, supplies and medications as required. Prioritizes duties to facilitate department flow. Maintains and cleans equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that established safety procedures are followed throughout the transportation process.
• Monitors the proper functioning of all transportation equipment on a daily basis.
• Knowledge of patient safety, basic transportation equipment, infection control processes, clerical skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and good communication and organizational skills.

• High School Diploma
• BLS
