Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management seeks a transport associate to safely move patients, equipment and supplies within the hospital. You will interact with patients and staff, using the Tele-Tracking system to receive dispatches and coordinate moves.

Training new hires and maintaining proper body mechanics are essential to this role. The position requires adherence to PHI protections, patient identification procedures, and N95 mask fit testing.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe efficient transport of patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies.
• Performs transport duties as needed and assist in training new hires.
• Communicates with other departments to assess their transport needs.
• Requires interaction with patients and customers to ensure needs are met.
• Must be oriented to hospital layout and testing areas.
• Performs data entry and receives dispatch information via Tele-Tracking System.
• Must use proper body mechanics for lifting and moving patients.
• Understands and uses the Patient Identification and Alert Process.
• Must pass fit testing for N95 mask.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Abides by PHI protections and completes annual PHI training.
