Overview

Schedule: rotating shifts

Department supported: Patient Transport

Transports patients to and from the point of service, including admissions, discharges, ancillary and other service areas, and performs varied patient/equipment handling duties.

High school diploma or equivalent; including graduates from an IU Health transition-to-work program.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Requires training in competencies such as patient oxygen equipment, monitoring levels, patient lifting and transfers, and infection control policies.
• Follow oxygen transport policies and procedures, including attaching and monitoring oxygen tank levels during transport.
• Ability to work in a standing position and walk frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and stoop, bend, and twist while handling weights.
• Perform repetitive motions such as grasping and fine manipulation.
• No prior experience required.
