Job summary

IU Health West Hospital is seeking a part-time Environmental Services transporter to support patient movement across departments. This role focuses on safe handling of patients and equipment, following policy and safety guidelines in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Ideal candidates are high school graduates with excellent stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. No prior experience required; training and orientation are provided to ensure competency in oxygen-related equipment and infection

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; transition-to-work programs accepted.
• Requires training in oxygen equipment, transfers, and infection control.
• Ability to follow oxygen transport policies and monitoring procedures.
• Frequent standing and long-distance walking required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from service areas, admissions, discharges and other locations.
• Performs patient and equipment handling duties in a safe, policy-driven manner.
• Supports infection control practices and department safety procedures.
