Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required/ Preferred.
• Detail oriented, good sense of direction, and time and task flexibility.
• Prior hospital experience in a similar role is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and patient related items as dispatched in a safe and efficient manner following hospital protocols.
• Keeps the Dispatcher informed of transport delays to maintain efficient workflow.
• Ensures transport is accompanied by an SBAR and reviews transport specific information (O2, aspiration risk, fall risk).
• Follows Infection Prevention protocols by washing in/out and disinfecting equipment after transport.
• Verifies patient ID using two identifiers including the wrist band before transport.
• Inspects wheelchairs and stretchers for serviceability and reports if equipment is Red Tagged.
