Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring a full-time Patient Transporter at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks in Glendale Heights, IL. The role supports hospital operations by moving patients and equipment safely and efficiently, under nursing supervision.

Candidates should have patient-facing experience in healthcare or service settings and be able to lift and move heavy items. The schedule is weekday, with opportunities for growth within environmental services and patient

Qualifications

• Prior patient-facing experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or service environment is required.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items is required.

Responsibilities

• Properly and safely transports patients, secures IVs, drainage tubes, etc., and secures patient.
• Uses wheelchairs and other rolling stock to carry out duties.
• Demonstrates competency in transporting all age groups.
• Ensures safe, timely transport of patients to destinations using the proper equipment.
• Communicates with nursing staff, clinicians, technicians or reception/dispatch.
• Attends to patient comfort and privacy; avoids unnecessary conversations during transport.
• Alerts nursing staff to signs of distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintains equipment and reports repairs.
• Follows regulatory standards including HIPAA and hospital policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
