Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly is seeking a compassionate Transport Aide to move patients between units using wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds. You will support all departments and help maintain patient comfort and safety throughout transfers.

The role emphasizes clear communication with nurses, testing staff, and other transporters, with an emphasis on patient identification, dignity, and efficient patient flow. High school diploma required; CPR preferred; hourly rate $18.00–$21.33.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a positive demeanor and have strong verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multi-task.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from departments/units. Includes appropriate patient identification, patient comfort and safety (assisting in lifting, moving and positioning in bed/wheelchair, etc), and providing patient information.
• Care for and clean wheelchairs/stretchers and initiate appropriate action when repair is required (check supply of oxygen, replenish and change regulators as necessary).
• Coordinates with other transporters based on patient schedules to ensure smooth flow of transport operations; communicates patient information to nurses and testing (diagnostic) departments as necessary.

The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant's experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
