Summary:

Transports patients and equipment throughout the facility.

Responsibilities:
  1. Delivers equipment to requesting staff or departments.
  2. Assists staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
  3. Assists staff with lift assists and repositioning of patients as needed.
  4. Helps patients enter and exit vehicles, including transfers from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
  5. Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or neuro chair to designated sites, including patients with oxygen tanks, IV pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
  6. Greets and provides information and directions to patients and visitors.

Education and Certification Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (Required within 30 days of hire)
Additional Job Information:

Requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in stressful environments.

No prior experience required. New hires must obtain BLS certification within 30 days.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Includes bending, stooping, climbing, keyboard use, kneeling, lifting patients up to 75 lbs, pushing/pulling, reaching, repetitive movements, and standing/walking for extended periods.
  • Includes exposure to biohazards, biological hazards, blood and bodily fluids, and other environmental conditions.
