Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Patient Transport member to move patients, specimens, and equipment through the facility. The role requires assisting patients, maintaining oxygen levels, and coordinating with teams across departments to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading patients, handling transfers, and supporting morgue and visitor guidance as needed.

Weekend Requirements: Every Other | Work Hours: 1300-2130 | Status: Part Time - 0.5 FTE (40 hours per pay period) | Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Patient TransportJob Summary:Transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility.Job Responsibilities:A Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.Provides continuous oxygen to patients by setting the oxygen tanks to the same level already being provided.Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.Delivers equipment and specimens to requesting team members or department.Assists team members with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.Skills and Attributes:Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.Works under minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Position Requirements:Work ExperienceA minimum of 2 years relevant experience preferred.EducationHigh school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferredLicensure/Certification/RegistrationBLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this positionOrganizational Responsibilities:Supports Owensboro Health’s Mission, Vision, Core Commitments, and business interests.
