UPMC Presbyterian is hiring part-time Cardiac Transporters to support the Transportation Services Department in Oakland, PA. The shifts will vary, including 24-hour coverage.

The Transporters will be responsible for safely transporting patients and equipment within the hospital, walking approximately seven miles daily, and interacting with patients to contribute to their care.

Responsibilities

Transport patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens between hospital areas safely and efficiently.
Transfer patients in and out of beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs securely.
Monitor patient vital signs during transport.
Maintain a caring and supportive attitude towards patients and staff.
Be available to rotate shifts for 24/7 coverage.
Follow departmental procedures accurately and exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks.
Communicate effectively and organize work efficiently.
Transport medications within the department as needed.
