Job summary

TouchPoint Support Services in Southfield, MI is hiring immediately for part time Patient Transporter positions with a 24-hour weekly schedule. The fixed pay rate is $15.00 per hour, with rotating weekends and holidays. We offer a range of benefits for both full-time and part-time colleagues.

Qualifications

• Prior patient transporter experience preferred.
• High School Diploma/equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Properly and safely transport patients, secure IVs, drainage tubes, etc., and secure patient.
• Use wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to carry out the essential duties of the position.
• Demonstrate competency in transporting all specific age groups.
• Ensure the safe, timely and accurate transport of patients to their destination using the proper requested equipment.
• Communicate effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians or reception and dispatch.
• Ensure the comfort of the patient by being attentive. Offer blankets, check modesty and engage only in appropriate conversation involving patients. Never transport patients in severe pain.
• Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
• Maintain equipment and report equipment needing repairs.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and JCAHO.
• Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient’s rights policy as outlined in the facilities HIPAA policies and procedures.
