Job summary

Commonwealth Health is seeking a Transporter to assist staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients. The Transporter will be responsible for transporting patients to different areas of the hospital, including discharge, and must do this under the supervision of a staff nurse.

The ideal candidate is a high school graduate, has completed a BCLS course, and preferably has experience in an acute care setting. This role is vital to ensure that patients receive timely care and assistance.

Qualifications

• Completion of the 4-6-week orientation program is required.
• BCLS certification is mandatory.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients.
• Transport patients to various areas throughout the hospital.
• Support the surgical patient under the supervision of a staff nurse.

Position Purpose:

The Transporter performs various procedures and tasks assisting staff nurses in the treatment and care of patients, including the surgical patient, under the direction and supervision of a staff nurse at all times. The Transporter transports patients to various areas throughout the hospital including discharge.
