Qualifications include a High school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification (or within first year), and prior healthcare exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required or must be obtained within the first year of employment.
• Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
• Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from ancillary departments and nursing units as directed.
• Carry and deliver items; return to the work area promptly.
• Use proper body mechanics to move patients and avoid injury.
• Run errands when not performing patient transports; deliver lab specimens and other items.
• Ensure stretchers and wheelchairs are in proper working order and report repairs.
• Clean equipment and store stretchers, wheelchairs and O2 regulators properly.
• Make rounds at shift end to collect equipment for next morning.
• Enter all required data on worksheets in a timely manner.
