Job summary

University Hospitals in Ravenna, OH, seeks a patient transport teammate to safely move patients, equipment, and supplies within the hospital. You will support clinical teams through timely transports and assist in training new hires.

The role requires good physical stamina, ability to navigate the facility, accurate data entry via Tele-Tracking, and adherence to PHI, safety, and hospital policies. Prior patient care exposure is preferred; BLS is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
• Less than 1 year basic patient care experience (Preferred)
• Knowledge and handling of transport equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, oxygen) (Preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs transport duties as needed and assist in training new hires.

• Interacts with patients and customers to ensure patient/Customers’ needs are met.
• Must be oriented to physical layout of the hospital and locations of patient testing areas.
• Performs data entry and receives dispatch information via Tele-Tracking System.
• Must use proper body mechanics for lifting and/or moving patients.
• Understands and uses the Patient Identification and Alert Process.
• Must pass fit testing for N95 mask.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
