Job description

  • Transports patients, belongings and deceased to and from assigned departments.
  • Assists floor staff to ready patients for transport.
  • Transports specific patient related equipment and beds to requesting departments.
  • Utilizes technology system for various equipment deliveries.
  • Enters rental equipment into the appropriate software when needed.
  • Assists with wheelchair management by identifying those for cleaning and repair.
  • Transports wheelchairs to Central Sterile for cleaning and to ISS for repairs.
  • Maintains wheelchair availability in assigned staging locations.
  • Receive assignments by calling into the Transport Tracker XT Program for movement of Patients and Equipment.
  • Properly identifies patient prior to transport and assures that patient has an identification.
  • Assists patients in and out of vehicles and transport equipment.
  • Interacts with patients in a professional manner, avoiding idle conversation that excludes the patient.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare team members to facilitate patient care and services.
  • Maintains eye contact, acknowledges and greets patient, and communicates the transport destination to the patient.
