Job summary

Mercy is seeking a patient transport associate to safely move patients and equipment across the Medical Center. The role requires maintaining equipment PAR levels and using Epic to monitor patient locations and asset movement throughout the facility.

Ideal candidates will have two years of customer service experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a BLS CPR/AED certification. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing as part of daily shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) certification preferred.

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within the Medical Center. Performs various patient related activities, as assigned. Patients are transported in a safe manner and proper body mechanics are utilized at all times. Maintains PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout the Medical Center. Continuously shows the ability to work well with other co-workers (both within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments). Uses Epic software to track each patient's location as they travel to and from designated areas throughout the facility. Uses Epic software to to track equipment movement throughout the facility.

Position Details:

Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) program

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience: Two years customer service experience.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
