Job summary

St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, NJ is seeking a Transporter to move patients between departments and assist with basic in-hospital tasks. The role includes clerical duties such as answering phones, greeting patients, and requesting outpatient requisitions.

Responsibilities also include light front office duties, room stocking, darkroom duties, and retrieving patient records as needed. BCLS certification is required on hire; transportation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current throughout employment
• Transportation experience preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Other duties include darkroom duties, ordering supplies, stocking, dressing patients and front office duties.
• Performs clerical duties: answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients.
• Retrieves patient records for physicians or medical records.
• Demonstrates knowledge of usual terminology of tests ordered in department; greets patients and visitors politely.
• Provides clerical support using telephone, computer, PACS, and by running errands throughout the facility.
