Job description

Job Summary: Transports patients and equipment throughout the Hospitals and Clinics.

Job Duties

• Transports patients, belongings, and deceased individuals to and from assigned departments.
• Assists floor staff in preparing patients for transport.
• Transports specific patient-related equipment and beds to requesting departments.
• Uses technology systems for various equipment deliveries.
• Enters rental equipment into the appropriate software when needed.
• Assists with wheelchair management, including cleaning and repair identification.
• Transports wheelchairs to Central Sterile for cleaning and to ISS for repairs.
• Maintains wheelchair availability in assigned staging locations.
• Receives assignments via the Transport Tracker XT Program for movement of patients and equipment.
• Properly identifies patients prior to transport and ensures patient identification.
• Assists patients in and out of vehicles and transport equipment.
• Interacts professionally with patients, maintaining respect and clear communication.
• Collaborates with healthcare team members to facilitate patient care and services.

Work is performed in a clinical environment. The role requires compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Additional skills and competencies may be outlined in department-specific orientation.
