Job description

Details: This position is full-time, evening shift, with opportunities to earn evening, weekend, and holiday differentials. The standard hours are 1:30pm to 10:00pm.

Responsibilities include transporting patients to and from the point of service, including admissions, discharges, ancillary, and other service areas, as well as performing various patient and equipment handling duties.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduates from an approved IU Health transition-to-work program, or comparable education/experience to acquire relevant job knowledge.
  • Training will be provided in competencies such as patient oxygen equipment use, monitoring oxygen levels, patient lifting and transfers, and infection control policies.
  • Ability to follow oxygen transport policies and procedures, including attaching and monitoring oxygen tank levels during transport.
  • Physical ability to work frequently in a standing position and walk extensively.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to stoop, bend, and twist while handling weights.
  • Repetitive motion skills such as grasping, fine manipulation, and forearm/wrist movements used daily.
  • Ability to perform patient lifting using proper techniques learned through in-service training.
