Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH seeks a Patient Transporter for the Central Transport team. The role transports patients, specimens and equipment across the facility, assists with entering/exiting vehicles, and supports transfer processes with care and professionalism.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent and CPR HeartSaver certification by orientation; healthcare experience is preferred, with strong communication and physical stamina to lift and move patients daily.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent or currently attending high school.
• CPR HeartSaver certification required by the end of orientation.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to lift and transport patients.
• Ability to withstand frequent walking and standing.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to designated sites as requested.
• Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles and transfers between wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Delivers equipment and specimens and assists with removal of deceased bodies when needed.
• Greets and provides information and directions to patients and visitors.
