Job summary

Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA is seeking a patient transport associate to move patients and visitors safely between departments. You will document service requests to support accurate, timely tracking and help maintain wheelchairs and stretchers in clean, safe condition.

The role may include light clerical duties and assistance to other staff. A high school diploma is required, with preferred experience in patient transport or customer service and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in patient transportation or customer service preferred.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients from one area of the hospital to another as needed.
• Clean and sanitize equipment as assigned; maintain proper working order.
• Assist other staff and perform clerical tasks as time permits.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Receives and transports patients and visitors in a safe and timely manner to their designated destination. Will document request for services in order to provide an accurate and timely tracking system. Will maintain wheelchairs, stretchers, and all other used equipment in clean and sanitary condition, as well as proper working order (i.e., oiling wheels of such equipment). Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

• Transports patients from one area of the hospital to another as needed.
• Cleans all equipment as assigned,
• assists other employees as directed,
• and may assist with clerical work in the department as time permits.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent

• Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Patient transportation or customer service experience
  • Certifications: BLS
