Job Summary

As a Transporter at Mon Health, you will ensure that quality care is given to patients by providing support for limited areas. You will ensure safe and timely transports to and from procedures and tests. You will be responsible for transferring patients from bed onto a cart or into a wheelchair or vice versa, and transporting them to and from Imaging services while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Performs all duties within established hospital and department policies and procedures. Assists other Imaging Services staff as needed and all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Patient Care and Transport Correctly identifies patients, ensures patient safety at all times, prioritizes exams, communicates effectively, assists others, and follows policies, procedures and protocols (including Safety, hand-off communication, bed alarm, oxygen, Joint Commission requirements) to provide an extraordinary patient experience, compassionate care, and clinical excellence. Reports issues or concerns immediately to supervisor.

Radiology Information Systems Operation Follows all policies, procedures and protocols when operating all computer systems to ensure patient confidentiality and validity of data in all systems.

Equipment Maintains equipment in a safe working order, tags equipment that needs repairs and removes from service, notifies maintenance for needed repairs, reports issues immediately to supervisor, and uses equipment in a proficient manner. Cleans equipment following infection control policies and procedures.

Customer Service, Phone Etiquette Ensures that all customers' needs are met in a timely manner by providing an extraordinary patient experience, compassionate care, and clinical excellence. Reports issues to supervisor immediately.

Perform Other Duties as Required Always participates in staff meetings (or signs off as responsible for meeting minutes when unable to attend), self-education, in-services, competencies, and maintains required job knowledge (e.g. licensure and credentials, continuing education), as well as keeps informed of all communications (email, huddle notes, etc.) without prompting from manager, following policy and procedures surrounding these requirements. Willingly performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Heavy Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.

Ability to understand hospital and departmental policies and procedures and operate departmental equipment, and skills obtained through on-the-job training. Basic knowledge of use of personal computers and mobile devices, which is normally acquired through on-the-job training or previous experience. Effective interpersonal communication skills in order to provide assistance to patients and maintain cooperative work relationships.
