Job summary

Baptist Medical Center Hospital is seeking a patient transport teammate to safely move patients and visitors to their destinations within the hospital. You will document service requests for tracking, maintain wheelchairs and stretchers, and ensure equipment is clean and in good working order.

Education required is a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience in patient transportation or customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: patient transportation or customer service experience.
• AHA BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and visitors to designated destinations safely and timely.
• Document service requests for tracking and coordination.
• Maintain cleanliness and functioning order of wheelchairs, stretchers, and equipment.
• Transport patients between hospital areas as needed.
• Assist with clerical tasks when time permits.

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Receives and transports patients and visitors in a safe and timely manner to their designated destination. Will document request for services in order to provide an accurate and timely tracking system. Will maintain wheelchairs, stretchers, and all other used equipment in clean and sanitary condition, as well as proper working order (i.e., oiling wheels of such equipment). Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Transports patients from one area of the hospital to another as needed. Cleans all equipment as assigned, assists other employees as directed, and may assist with clerical work in the department as time permits.

Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience
Preferred: Patient transportation or customer service experience

Certifications
Required: AHA BLS
