Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. in Boston is seeking a Patient Transport role with a 40-hour workweek. Shifts include Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 7:00 Am - 3:30 pm, with rotating holidays.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, specimens, equipment and supplies, collecting biohazard waste and linen, receiving assignments from the coordinator, and performing quarterly equipment cleaning, meetings, and other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both oral and written.
  • Friendly and courteous communication with patients and staff.
  • Must follow instructions, printed or verbal.

  • Transport patients, specimens, equipment, supplies and linen throughout the hospital as needed.
  • Collect biohazard waste, sharps containers, and soiled linen.
  • Receive information from the coordinator regarding the type of transport to be done.
  • This can be Patient Transport, Lab Transport, Linen Delivery, Supply Transport, Morgue Transport, Biohazard pickup and container replacement, etc.
  • Complete the assignment promptly, notify dispatch of completion, and receive new information for the next assignment.
  • Complete quarterly equipment cleaning.
  • Attend monthly meetings.
  • Other duties and tasks as needed.

  • This position requires the candidate to be on their feet most of the shift as required and be able to help transfer patients from beds to stretchers and wheelchairs
