Job summary

Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center is seeking a Patient Transporter to support the care team at our Akron hospital. The role involves transporting patients, charts, specimens, and equipment, stocking supplies, and maintaining clean transport areas on a day-to-day basis.

You will greet patients on arrival, assist with transfers between units, and help with wheelchair or stretcher transfers as needed, while providing basic information about parking and local services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience in patient transport or similar role is preferred.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transporting patients, charts, specimens, and equipment across the hospital.
• Provide patient movement between units, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Greet patients and provide general nonclinical information as needed.
• Stock and restock supplies; maintain clean transport areas.

What youll do:

• The Patient Transporter supports the patient care team by performing duties related to environmental light custodial maintenance and transporting patients, charts, specimens, equipment Stocking day-to-day supplies and clean and soiled linen efficiently throughout the hospital complex.
• Performs routine and nonprofessional duties such as providing patient transportation in the caring for patients.
• Greets patients upon arrival.
• Transports patients between nursing units, diagnostic areas, doctors suites, and other areas of the hospital as directed, to include lifting and assisting patients from beds to wheelchairs/stretchers and back as may be required;
• Assists with patient transfers and discharges, including removal of equipment from patient rooms after discharge May assist patient with wheelchair needs to and from their transportation.
• Provides general non-medical information (such as parking, driving directions, food available in the local area, etc.) to patients and guests.

What Were Looking For:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Previous experience preferred.
