Job summary

Sheppard Pratt seeks a Float Driver to transport patients and clients using the Health System van or car, within the metropolitan area. You will keep daily transportation records and report notable patient behavior to your supervisor.

The role requires a high school education (or 2 years driving experience in lieu), a Maryland driver’s license, and eligibility for the Sheppard Pratt driver’s license with a clean record. On-site work with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or 2 years driving experience in lieu of diploma.
• Ability to read, write and speak English well for communication with patients and staff.
• Knowledge of health system policies, procedures and safety regulations for patient transport.

Responsibilities

• Drive Health System van/auto to pick up and transport patients and others within the metropolitan area.
• Maintain record of driving assignments and transport activities.
• Observe and report significant patient behavior to supervisor.
• Perform routine van maintenance and arrange service with local garage as needed.
