Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Clinical Transporter I to transport patients and materials within the hospital, ensuring safe, timely movement and clear communication with care teams. You will monitor patient status and document actions, supporting care continuity across departments.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and strong interpersonal skills. Work is performed on-site at the Roanoke facility with day/evening shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No special licensure required.
• Must complete AHA BLS-HCP.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients between departments and facilities within the hospital.
• Monitor patient condition en-route and during procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians and other clinical staff to meet patient needs.
• Document promptly and accurately; report status changes to licensed staff.
• Maintain transportation equipment and ensure a safe, clean environment for patients and families.
